Dublin Comhaltas Updates:

Leinster Youth Group – Directory of Music

This email contains the application form for the position of Director of Music for the new Leinster Youth Group that we are currently in the process of setting up. We would appreciate if you could forward this email to secretaries at branch level for maximum coverage. Should there be any adults, who are members of comhaltas, with the relevant experience needed interested in applying for the position, they have until February 10th at 6pm sharp to return the form via email to the email address listed in the application form. This project is designed to offer the youth of Leinster a place where they can mingle and get to know people from other parts of the province and make new musical connections through playing music together as a group. If you could forward this email to branches as soon as you can we would greatly appreciate it. Should we find a suitable director, details of auditions will be sent out following the appointment of the director for forwarding also.

Fógra ó TG4  do baill an Chomhaltais/ Notice from TG4 to Comhaltas members.

Is féidir le baill Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann ticéid ar phraghas níos ísle a fháil ar 20 punt steirling an ceann trí Gradam2020 a úsáid nuair atá siad á gcur in áirithe tríd oifig na dticéad nó ar líne ag www.waterfront.co.uk.

Expected Practice Levels for Group / Ceili Band members

All Group and Ceili Band Members are expected to practice at least 15 minutes a day.

Members are expected to:

  1. Practice the tunes & arrangements in their group and band.  All notes have been provided to members.
  2. Know their group and band tunes without notes after the midterm, so that they can concentrate on the actual arrangements for the last few weeks of the term.

The Group and Ceili Band is a team effort, so those who do not practise are letting their teammates down.  Please note that failure to practice and to know the tunes without notes will result in the member not competing in the Feis/Fleadh competitions.

Best Regards,

Conor
